Broadhurst failed to qualify for both Team Ireland and Team GB in 2024 but is aiming to make Los Angeles in 2028.
Amy Broadhurst has confirmed her plans to compete at the 2028 Olympics despite her heartbreak this year and will take a break from the sport.
"When I lost back in May, I made a decision that was going to go one way or another but I placed my trust in god that he would lead me down the right path. ’l'll be taking a year away from boxing & boxing will no longer be my no.1 priority in life. My goal is the Olympic Games in 2028 and I know this break will do me the world of good. I’ll have more reason to succeed the minute I am back"
