Directed by John Milius and co-written by Oliver Stone , Conan polarised critics upon its release in 1982 before going on to become a cult favourite thanks to its epic, gritty action and quotable one-liners. It was also a box office hit, going on to spawn a sequel and a 2011 reboot, and launched Schwarzenegger as an action star.Mel Gibson stars as an ex-con who reunites with his estranged wayward 17-year old daughter in order to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.
