avourite museum is the Giacometti Institute in the 14th arrondissement which is part of the Giacometti Foundation. It’s a lovely Art Deco building that holds the work and research of Swiss sculptor Alberto Giacometti’s work and research. Currently on show is the exhibition “Ne pas parler de sculptures peintes” until November 3.. A highlight is the great music, even in the restrooms the music is different than in the rest of the restaurant.
I always buy my books in the Ofr. bookshop which is family-owned by Marie and Alexandre Thumerelle. They are very spirited and are always working on several projects at a time. The store has the best selection of art, design, architecture, and fashion books in Paris and is known as a “temple of cool” in Le Marais district.
Chez Jeannette near our newest hotel, Hotel Chateau d’Eau, in Rue du Faubourg Saint-Denis. The ambiance is superb, we can have business meetings in the morning and there is great music in the evening for drinks. The owner, Jean, is a friendly Parisian known for his energy and for always being in a good mood.
The Café de la Croix Rouge is the best spot for a drink on the Left Bank. I call it my home away from home.The elegant Hotel Eldorado in the 17th arrondissement, near the Sacre Coeur, has a beautiful garden in the summer, and in the winter there is a wonderful outside fireplace.
