Accused boys excused from court while Marie Cassidy gives postmortem evidence
The two boys accused of the murder of 14-year-old Ana Kriégel have been excused from court while former state pathologist Marie Cassidy gives evidence.
Prof Cassidy has spent Thursday morning giving evidence about the postmortem of Ana’s body which she conducted after the remains were found in an abandoned farmhouse in Lucan, Dublin on May 17th, 2018, three days after she went missing. These included small haemorrhages in the eyes. The witness said these injuries are seen in cases where the body has been deprived of oxygen through mechanical asphyxia or strangulation.
