Ireland boss Andy Farrell has described the controversy around his son Owen's red card tackle against Wales last weekend as "a circus" and "disgusting".
There was outrage in social media and media circles when the 31-year-old escaped a ban on Tuesday for his high tackle on Welsh player Taine Basham, with ex-players and current players also expressing surprise at the decision.However it has emerged that an appeal committee will hear a World Rugby appeal on the incident next week.
