Victoria Mary Clarke, a journalist and angel channeller, shares her insights on communicating with the spiritual realm and how she connects with her late husband, Shane MacGowan.
Journalist and angel channeller Victoria Mary Clarke has led an interesting life. She grew up in the rural Irish countryside, moved to London in her teens, and she’s always felt a deep connection to things that others don’t understand. Aged 20, she began a relationship with the singer Shane MacGowan, and the pair tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Copenhagen in 2018. She lovingly cared for him during his battles with ill health, until his death just over a year ago.
To get into the channelling headspace, Victoria listens to music and burns incense. 'It all helps. It’s good to experiment. I find music uplifting, if I put on Astral Weeks , I can go straight into a very beautiful state. I also like music with harps and Tibetan flute, along with Indian music. 'Some music is very sacred and it is designed to elevate your consciousness, spirit and mood. Smells are also important to me. If you smell roses, lavender or ylang ylang, they are very uplifting. I also burn sage and palo santo. Cold water like ice baths and breathwork also help me move into the present and take me out of my mind.' The angels communicate verbally, Victoria adds, and they often ask questions about what is going on, what you are thinking and how you feel when things happen. 'They ask about what you really want to happen in your life, and what is stopping you. They talk to you like a life coach would – they figure out your patterns of thinking, thought processes and any limiting beliefs – what’s getting in your way.
