Oswaldtwistle angler launches competition in memory of best friend and fishing companion of 10 years
An angler has organised a competition to raise funds for an organisation that supports people struggling with their mental health as a tribute to his good friend.
People wishing to take part in the Raz Birkett memorial Lure fishing competition should meet at Calypso Caribbean Restaurant in Blackburn at 8am on Sunday, March 12. “Fishing is a good way to talk to people and join a community. It is good for your mental health and I am happy to be helping Tackling Minds.Second Hand Fishing Bargains in Accrington donated fishing rods and reels to be given as prizes, while Calypso Caribbean Restaurant donated a platter for two for winners to enjoy at the restaurant.
