When Vicky Phelan promised Charlie Bird that she would join him on his charity climb of Croagh Patrick, well known Irish celebrities began to sign on, one by one.
Charlie and his wife Claire first brought up the idea to help raise awareness for Motor Neurone Disease and other terminal illnesses, vowing for the climb to take place on April 2nd.
Thankfully still able to walk, Charlie and an abundance of other celebrities will be. making the climb, and the latest to join them is none other than Imelda May. “And yes we have many more surprises on the way. Thanks to all of them for extending the hand of friendship. And thanks to yes, the tens of thousands of people across the country who are supporting me.”
Last month it was announced that Matt Molly would also be joining Charlie, bringing some entertainment along as he’ll be playing his flute on the way up.
