Aontú leader Peadar Tóibín has called for Tánaiste Simon Harris to resign following the death of Harvey Morrison Sherratt, despite not having spoken to the boy's parents.
His mother Gillian Sherratt said last week that they didn’t currently have a cause of death for her son. In 2017, while serving as Minister for Health, Mr Harris pledged that no child in Ireland would wait more than four months for scoliosis treatment. "In 2017, Simon Harris stated very clearly that no child would wait beyond four months before they would have an operation in terms of scoliosis. And yet Harvey had to wait 33 months for an operation.
