An appeal for information on a man missing in Donegal has been stood down after a body was recovered off the coast of Scotland.

An appeal for information on a man seen entering the water in Donegal earlier this month has been stood down after a body was discovered off the coast of Scotland .

Gardaí searching for a man in his 70s issued an appeal for information after someone matching his description was, a peninsula in Inisowen in northern Donegal, in early October. At the time, investigators said they were operating on the basis that the man was “missing, presumed dead”.They appealed for fishermen, coastal landowners and anyone currently in the area to report anything they came across the emergency services.
