The incident happened on Thursday evening.
Emergency services were called to St Vincent Street at around 7.40pm on Thursday, February 2 following reports of a crash involving two cars and a pedestrian.No one else was injured in the incident.The 28-year-old woman has been released pending further investigation.Officers are now appealing for anyone with who saw what happened or has dash cam footage to get in touch.
Sergeant Jack Swindells, of Glasgow Road Policing Unit, said:"Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time. "I’m appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who has dash cam footage of the area at the time to get in touch." Anyone with information can contact police via 101, quoting incident number 3320 of February 2, 2023.
St Vincent Street was closed while investigations were carried out and reopened around 3.15am on Friday, February 3.
