They’ve been a long time coming but it looks like AirPods 3 are finally going to be announced this coming Monday.
Neither source gives any details of what we should expect, but previous leaks have said that we should expect the following:They will not have noise-cancelling, the preserve of the pricier Pro and Max AirPods.They may—or may not—have silicone ear tips like AirPods Pro. I know, that’s not much help, but rumors have been very inconsistent here.
I’ll add my personal view which is that the new earbuds, assuming they are beamed down from Cupertino on Monday, will not be called AirPods 3. After all, the second-gen model was just called AirPods. That’s the likeliest candidate for the naming now, but there’s a ticklish problem. Some believe that the new AirPods will sit alongside the basic current AirPods, and they can’t both be called the same, can they?Only a couple of days until we know all the answers.
