Leavitt, who in 1912 published a 700-page memoir in which he outlined the jealousy-fueled battle between his clients, the magic greats Alexander Herrmann and Harry Kellar. Masterson got a signed edition of Leavitt’s memoir at auction, did some research in Harry Houdini’s original archives at the Library of Congress in D.C.
