Armed police swarmed a hospital in Birmingham last night after two teenagers were dumped outside with gunshot wounds.
Armed police swarmed a hospital inDramatic images show officers flooding the entrance of City Hospital after the youths arrived with gunshot wounds just before 10pm last night.Detectives are now speaking to the youths, both in their late teens, to establish what happened.But police now believe the shots were fired elsewhere and the youths were brought to the hospital by car from wherever they suffered their injuries.
West Midlands Police called the incident ‘alarming’ for people at the hospital but moved to reassure locals it was not the target of the attack.A force spokesperson said: ‘Two men were brought to the hospital by car with gunshot wounds just before 10pm. ‘Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening and their condition is described as ‘walking wounded’.
‘Our response and firearms officers were at the scene within minutes and Aberdeen Street was temporarily closed as we tried to establish where the shots had been fired.‘Detectives are now speaking to the men, both in their late teens, to establish what happened and to trace the offenders.’
