Simon Taylor grew up in a military family, with his father, two uncles and his brother all serving in the Army.

Simon added: "I had been working away from home for the last six to seven years and was travelling four to five hours every Friday and back every Sunday to and from the Barracks.
After that, Simon felt as though there was a lack of support for someone deciding to leave and almost as though once that notice was handed in, they "wanted to wash their hands with you." "To a degree, you only really socialise with other people in the Army, apart from your family. So, when you leave that military bubble, it comes with a collapse of your support and the security of having a home and the settlement you get is quite poor too."
He has also been nominated for Business Leader of the Year in the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards. The Awards are in their fifth year and celebrate military veterans in their second careers having left the armed forces.
