Many Arsenal fans inside the Emirates headed for the exit after Aston Villa's two late goals put a huge dent in Mikel Arteta's bid to end a two-decade wait for a Premier League title
Arsenal fans' second-half exodus during the 2-0 defeat by Aston Villa was "not good enough", according to former Liverpool ace Jose Enrique.
Given that both strikes came so deep in the game, it left Mikel Arteta's men with very little time to respond. The atmosphere shifted inside the Emirates as the Arsenal faithful knew Villa had placed a huge dent in the Gunners title charge. Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, the Spaniard claimed: "I don’t think that would happen in every stadium. I think Arsenal are in a very good moment with Mikel Arteta – last season they were close to winning the Premier League and this year they’re challenging again.
Enrique continued and suggested that Arsenal's players may have played the way they did as a result of feeling the pressure that comes with this title race. The Gunners are up against Liverpool and reigning champions Manchester City and with such stern comptition, any points dropped could be costly.Sunday's defeat means Arsenal sit in second, two points behind league-leaders and reigning champions City.
