Jurrien Timber and Wout Weghorst were involved in a heated bust-up while away on international duty with the Netherlands and manager Ronald Koeman was forced to intervene
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber was involved in an altercation with former Manchester United striker Wout Weghorst while on international duty.
However, while holding a training session ahead of that game, Timber and Weghorst had a heated clash that saw Koeman forced to intervene. In a clip shared on social media, Timber can be seen tackling Weghorst and the striker immediately goes down complaining about the challenge. Weghorst, though, continued to voice his frustrations which prompted Koeman to shout: "And now it's over!" Although the 32-year-old did finish the training session, he remained visibly annoyed by the incident and very quickly left as soon as it was over.
When asked about De Ligt, Koeman said: "He himself realises that he was in the wrong position. This should not happen, but mistakes are part of football. I think it is unfair to make a big deal out of it."
