The first museum exhibition of these works, “LA Woman: Kali, Artographer,” continues through March 12, at the Columbus Museum of Art. Located in a second-floor hallway and Gallery 5, the 50-some works include original vintage prints, Polaroids and enlarged prints made from the originals.Susan Archibald’s former husband, photographer Len Prince, created the enlarged versions of the original prints and helped to organize and curate the exhibition.
“Mona 3 Eyes” merges portraits of Mona Lisa and daughter Susan. A teenage Cindy Sherman, who would become a celebrated American artist, can be seen in several Polaroids. Young hippies were muses, captured in neon-colored portraits. The somber “Blue Stripe Face, Palm Springs” is rendered in brilliant blue and green.
