The man who shot and killed Ashley Dale was seen on CCTV grinning and buying booze just hours before he gunned her down. James Witham, who admits killing the 28-year-old but denies murder, also attended Everton vs Nottingham Forest that afternoon.
The pair had driven to the off licence in the grey Hyundai i30N which was later seen on Leinster Road when Ashley was shot dead. The prosecution's case is that they were "dispatched" as "footsoldiers" to kill Mr Harrison by Niall Barry, 26, Sean Zeisz, 28, and Ian Fitzgibbon, 28. The clips were presented as part of a timeline, showing the movement of the five men on August 19 and 20, 2022, ahead of Ashley's death. Witham, who has admitted manslaughter but denies murder, travelled to Abergele in North Wales in the Hyundai with Barry, Peers, and an associate on August 19, returning to a flat on Pilch Lane, Huyton, that evening.
Witham then went to watch Everton vs Nottingham Forest at Goodison Park with associate Michael Kershaw, making a purchase from a food provider near the stadium at 2.27pm. That evening, just before 8pm, Witham, wearing the new trainers, and Peers were seen buying their booze from Adisco Food and Wine.
