She had been found in the undergrowth by the Grand Canal in Tullamore having suffered 12 sharp force wounds to her neck, the Central Criminal Court has heard
A paramedic has told the trial of Jozef Puska how he took the decision to stop resuscitation attempts on Ashling Murphy because she displayed no signs of life.
He told the court he and a colleague are normally based in Athlone, Co Westmeath, but they were in Tullamore on January 12 on another job when they got a call to attend the scene at Cappincur. “She was lying on her back,” Mr McCabe said. He said the undergrowth around Ms Murphy had been flattened. Her hair was matted and he could not see her face, he said, adding that it was Probably because of several factors including blood loss and condensation.
He said it was his decision to cease resuscitation after consulting with colleagues and gardai at the scene.
