Aston Villa have sparked a backlash among supporters after deciding to charge them up to £97 to watch Champions League matches at Villa Park in the 2024/25 campaign
Aston Villa fans have accused their club of “waging war” on them by charging “disgraceful” prices for Champions League matches this season.
They will begin their historic campaign away against Young Boys on September 17 before hosting fixtures against the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus. The draw increased excitement among the fanbase, but that has now been punctured for some by Villa’s announcement on Wednesday of ticket prices. One fan wrote on Twitter : “£85 is insane! As a comparison, 1 adult and 2 U16 tickets for a Man Utd Europa League game is the same price!” Another replied: “These ticket prices are disgraceful. Liverpool ’s most expensive CL tickets are £60. How not to reward season ticket holder’s loyalty over the years by fleecing them for all their worth for the one year we are in the Champions League.
