An Aurora man who gave fentanyl to a 16-year-old girl during a party at his apartment, where she overdosed and died, is sentenced to 64 years to life in prison.

Jorge Alexander Che-Quiab was sentenced Thursday in Arapahoe County District Court, according to the district attorney’s office.

Che-Quiab was sentenced from 12 years to life for sexual assault of a child, the DA’s office said. He was sentenced to 12 years for manslaughter; and on two counts of substance distribution to a minor — 20 years on each drug count. The terms will be served consecutively. He was also sentenced for possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and for sex assault of a victim under 15. These sentencing terms run concurrent with the consecutive terms.— rather than the original charge of first-degree murder — following a six-day trial.
