This musician struck all the right notes with the Colorado Avs.
When Mark Castellano auditioned to become the organist of thein 2016, the New York City native didn't have a lot of hockey experience under his belt.
"I started looking on Indeed, and I found that there was an organist job available," Castellano says. And to educate himself about hockey."It was like learning about what’s an icing and when to play," Castellano recalls."I learned a lot of minor songs the first couple of years, because we weren’t in a ton of games."
The organist works closely with a director, who decides which performer will be featured next: the drum squad, a DJ or Castellano."Between the three of us, we’re the music," he says.
