Health bosses are looking to further improve care in maternity wards.
A new strategy from hospital chiefs is aiming to 'reduce inequalities' in care for all women and babies.The local health authority has the lowest number of stillbirths across the UK and the second lowest rate of neo-natal deaths across the UK - but insist they want to further improve their high standards.
Under the terms of the joint Partnership Agreement with the Scottish Patient Safety Programme Team, NHS Ayrshire & Arran has agreed to measure the following within maternity services: Attica Wheeler, Director of Midwifery / Associate Nurse Director, said: "The overall aims of the SPSP Perinatal Collaborative Maternity Care strand continues to ensure the best possible care is given to our mums and babies within Ayrshire Maternity Unit.
“We are looking at ways of capturing information on service user satisfaction from Care Opinion, Social media sites , and also via complaints to ensure any issues are addressed and improvements made.”
