B&M to begin closing some stores in three days - full list of locations affected
High street giant B&M has said it will be closing more of its UK stores in just a matter of days. The budget retailer, which competes with the likes of Home Bargains and Wilko, will be shutting more shops from this Sunday.
The first closure will be on Boucher Road in Belfast, which will take place on Sunday 26 May. B&M's Kilmarnock store in Queens Drive Retail Park in Scotland will close on the same day. Customers in Belfast won't be without a B&M store as the new "bigger and better" site will be opening on Friday 24 which the chain says will offer a wider range of branded products. Scottish B&M fans have already seen a new store, complete with a garden centre too, open in Glencairn Retail Park last month.
The reason behind the closure is because the shopping centre where it is based has plans to be redeveloped. The plans would see the current 1970s shopping mall structure demolished and replaced with around 800 flats based in several tower blocks, a cinema, small supermarket, a restaurant, a library and dentist surgery, reports the Mirror.
