A UK advert promoting ‘Back to School Botox’ for mothers is the cosmetics industry’s latest attempt exploit women’s insecurities for profit.
Glowday, a website that allows users to compare aesthetic procedure suppliers, promoted ‘back to school Botox’ in September 2022.
Prof McAuliffe said, “It's ridiculous to think that women would want to be getting Botox for two or three minutes stop-off at the school gate so that they look good before they go about their busy day.” “These multinational companies - particularly the beauty industry - create these anxieties about the perfect body,” she said.
