Badminton Academy Social Enterprise will lease Stewartfield Community Centre for the next five years.
South Lanarkshire councillors have given the go-ahead to lease Stewartfield Community Centre to a badminton academy.

The project aims to create a badminton academy and a base for the sport within Lanarkshire and beyond. A consultation was carried out in May this year, out of 212 respondents, 184 were against the asset transfer with 28 in favour.Councillor Margaret Cooper , queried on behalf of councillor David Watson, who was not present at the meeting, who wanted to know if current users of the centre will be accommodated.
