The Financial Services Union has described as"unacceptably high" the gender pay gap reported across the banking sector.
Each of the four main retail banks have now reported their findings, with the mean gender pay gap averaging 19.35% across the four main banks and the median averaging 18.71%. "The gender pay gap can best be resolved through a willingness of employers to engage with unions and agree action plans that put this issue as a core objective of their business plan," Mr O'Connell said.
The broadcaster said it has a mean, or average, gender pay gap of 11.55% which reduces to 10% when roles with overtime are excluded.
