Barbie has finally unveiled its newest launch, a doll with Down syndrome.
Barbie parent company Mattel said they wanted to produce the doll to: “enable all children to see themselves in Barbie.”They partnered with the US National Down Syndrome Society to help bring the product to market. The Chief Executive of the UK Down Syndrome Association said: “Children in our community will be able to play with a doll that represents them.”British model, Ellie Goldstein appeared in the new Barbie campaign with the doll.She said: “Diversity is important to me as people need to see more people like me out there in the world and not be hidden away.”
