It was clear to see after the match that the 33-year-old was happy to get one over their main rivals, so much so that when he spoke to a reporterHowever, Barnes is now in trouble with English football’s governing body for his choice of words.: “Ashley Barnes has been charged with breaching FA Rule E3.1 during an interview that took place after Burnley FC’s game against Blackburn Rovers FC on Sunday 13 November 2022.
“The forward’s comments allegedly constitute improper conduct in that they are improper and/or bring the game into disrepute and/or use abusive and/or insulting words.Barnes netted twice at Turf Moor, with his goals and Anass Zaroury’s strike earning them a victory that saw them return to the top of the Championship.
