Throngs of Ireland fans will be singing in the Athens sun ahead of tomorrow’s Euro 2024 qualifier against Greece - as local barmen have said they're happy to help quench their thirst.
Barman Peter Angelopoulos is near the Acropolis at the Seven Jokers bar in Athens city centre and invited them for a boozy sing-song.He told the Irish Mirror: “We are open until midnight so join us before and after the game. Ireland fans can come here for sure. They can enjoy all the beers in the world. I know they like Guinness.
A result against the Greeks would be a boost before a home tie against Gibraltar on Monday when a win and three points are needed. There to cheer on Stephen Kenny’s men are brothers Michael and Andrew Fanning, from Rathfarnham in Dublin, and also from Walkinstown in the capital are Eileen, Christy, and Roisin O’Neill.
