Brett Smajstrla had three hits and drove in four runs for the Oilers while Caden Ferraro had three RBI and Justin Ogle knocked in two runs.Strake Jesuit defeated Alvin, 8-2, Friday to remain two games back with two games remaining in the district race. The Oilers , who have won nine consecutive games, take on Dawson twice next week with a win in either game assuring Pearland of an outright championship.

Strake Jesuit is in second place in district while Alvin and Dawson are tied for third, each with 8-4 records.Dawson, which defeated Alief Elsik 10-0 Friday night, can assure itself of a playoff berth by winning either game with Pearland. If the Eagles should lose both games to Pearland, then Dawson would likely be involved in a playoff with Shadow Creek for fourth place.In the Eagles’ win over Elsik, Travis Minard and Jacob Dugas teamed for a five-inning no-hitter.Jonah Reynolds had three hits for the Eagles while Brayden Bland added two hits.
