At practice, the Phoenix Suns discussed Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, who went into cardiac arrest during Monday's game at Cincinnati.
CLEVELAND – The Phoenix Suns have lost six of their last seven games, but seeing Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlinput their rough stretch in perspective.
“Our guys understand what we have to do, we’ve got to do it more consistently, but we also understand that basketball is just a game,” Williams said after Tuesday’s practice. “We saw how important our brotherhood in sports is in watching the young man go down on the field. We talked about that today. Yeah, we want to be really good as a team, but let’s not forget people are going through a lot more worse than us.”“It’s going to be get bumpy on the road, lucky for us our bumpy on the road is just losing games,” Suns wing Mikal Bridges said. “A lot of other things that’s worse, but we’ve just got to stay with it. Just keep getting better and get through it.
Hamlin’s uncle, Dorrian Glenn, thanked those for their prayers and support of his nephew in an interview Tuesday night with ESPN.“I know he’s still here and I know he’s fighting," Glenn said. Hamlin stood up after taking a hit to the chest from Bengals receiver Tee Higgins, but quickly fell backward onto the field that led to a stoppage in play. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center near Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.
