Viewers may spot an award-winning chef in the BBC series from episode two onwards
It's the kitchen drama gripping the nation - but viewers may not realise there's a real life chef in BBC series Boliing Point. Former Manchester Chef of the Year Rachel Stockley will be seen in the kitchen of fictional fine dining restaurant Point North from episode two onwards on the BBC drama.
The swanky restaurant Point North may look like a real-life restaurant, but it was actually all created from scratch especially for the drama in the vast Space Studios film sets in Gorton. The series follows on from the hit movie Boiling Point which starred Stephen Graham as the head chef Andy Jones heading towards personal and professional meltdown.
"When I first walked onto set and saw the kitchen, it's absolutely like a real kitchen with the amount of tech they've added in there. Ellis used real kitchen fitters to do it and so it's all top end stuff, there's even a walk-in fridge." With the drama following the trials and tribulations of a female head chef, Rachel was also happy to chat to actor Vinette about the role and her own real life experiences.
She said in announcing her departure it was "time to find a new path", and since then she's done exactly that. She has pursued a number of media chef projects and is now working as a chef consultant behind the scenes on the new series of Great British Menu.
