Media members and fans alike can get carried away with the demand for style points, when the truth is that repeatedly winning on the road in conference play is difficult, especially in a rivalry game at a place likeNo. 1, it hasn’t accomplished enough to make its top-ranked status unassailable. Once October arrives, there’s not a lot of room for “benefit of the doubt” rankings driven by preseason beliefs.
