Bellular Studios are due to launch their first game - The Pale Beyond - in the coming months
A Belfast games studio is excited ahead of the launch of its first published title in the coming months.
He said: "I met Michael while we were doing a programming course at Queen's University and at the time I never imagined that we would find ourselves starting a company developing games together. "Bellular Studios came about as our university placement when we felt that we would be able to combine our different skills and finally put out degrees to good use and thanks to some funding from NI Screen we started working on our first project together."
Thomas continued: "Our first few attempts at creating games have taught us what we were doing right and what we were doing wrong and a lot of this came down to the scope of the games that we were trying to create, where we were probably trying to do something that was a bit beyond our capabilities. Thomas said that The Pale Beyond has a strong emphasis on its artistic design with all of the characters, environments, music and sound effects being created in house. The noises for the sled dogs come from their audio director stopping dogs in Lagan Meadows and getting them to bark.
Bellular Studios have partnered with Australian games publisher Fellow Traveller Games to produce the project and it is currently being tested ahead of a release at the end of 2022 or start of 2023.
