Footballer Benjamin Mendy 'forcefully' raped one woman and tried to rape another at his Cheshire mansion, prosecutors allege. The Manchester City player, 28, denies counts of rape and attempted rape, allegations concerning two women.
"He would have parties and social gatherings at his home. He would have both male and female guests at his social gatherings. Mr Aina said: "Whilst in the bar, Mr Mendy at one stage came from behind her and tried to take hold of her saying 'when he's not looking, I'm gonna kidnap you'. She took his hands off and said 'no you’re not.'."
Mr Mendy allegedly said: "You don't have to be scared. I just wanna feel you, I'm not... I'm not gonna do anything to you. I'm not gonna put it in or anything." After the alleged incident, she tried to order an Uber but Mr Mendy said his driver could take her to a train station. Mr Aina said Woman One complained to police in January 2022.
Woman Two didn't hand over her phone, the jury heard. "She did not want to be in a position where she was cut off from the outside world," Mr Aina added. "The bedroom doors were locked behind her with an internal locking system that Mr Mendy controlled," Mr Aina said. Mr Mendy said she wanted to see the woman naked, prosecutors alleged.
