Conor Benn has style of Mike Tyson and is the UK's next superstar, Eddie Hearn believes
And Matchroom Boxing chairman Hearn told talkSPORT Benn is next in line to be one of the UK’s boxing superstars, following in the footsteps of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.“I just think the older guys now, we always see that older generation don’t really want to fight a young lion,” he said.
“A year ago they thought you were all hype! Conor is breezing through these guys now so we know in the summer we have to take a step up. We have to get the progression right because when you look at the stars of UK boxing, most of them are at the backend of their career. British boxing remains in a good place, but with Joshua 32 years old and Fury being 33, new stars will have to emerge to take their place as the faces of the sport in the coming years.Hearn firmly believes Benn can do that and the onus is on Matchroom to get him the right fights.
