The Fine Gael TD hit the headlines last year when he slammed an ‘unwinnable’ lotto jackpot that had rolled over for most of the summer.
This has been revealed in the new accounts by Premier Lotteries Ireland DAC which show that prize money for 2022 was €484.9million - a drop of €101million on the €585.9million paid out in prize money in 2021. The amount paid out by the lottery operator to ‘Good Causes’ last year also decreased - by €44.5million from €304million to €259.5million.
