The deputy, Angelica Flores, 29, allegedly started an argument Sunday night with her partner in her home and hit the man’s face with her elbow, according to a statement from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. The man reported the incident to the BSCO about 11:55 p.m. Sunday. Flores, a two-year veteran with the BCSO assigned to the Detention Bureau, was later arrested on a charge of assault bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor.
Termination proceedings against the deputy have started, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which said that the action is in accordance with BSCO policies and procedures. Flores is on unpaid administrative leave, the statement said, pending the outcome of criminal and administrative investigations.
