University Health’s Dr. Jason Bowling, hospital epidemiologist, said the flu could come back strong this year.
Bexar County in partnership with University Health is hosting drive-through flu shot events in September and October.Bexar County Commissioners will host flu shot events across the San Antonio area from Sept. 10 through Oct. 22 in partnership with University Health. Anyone over six months old can receive a flu shot without leaving their vehicle at four locations from 8 a.m. to noon on the following Saturdays:Success! You're on the list.
Cases have been lower the past two years due to people wearing masks, social distancing and quarantining because of COVID-19. “Australia is having more influenza this year than they had in 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, so we may see a rebound of influenza activity,” said Bowling.
