He didn't offer anything concrete in terms of changes to federal law to deal with America's gun violence problem, but over and over he repeated:"Enough". And if the politicians on Capitol Hill can't be swayed, then, he hopes, people out there - listening to his primetime address - will see sense as he sees it.From the conservative right he is being accused already of using tragedies to opine and to undermine the Second Amendment.
The calls for change come every time. And yet, this uniquely American cycle of gun violence goes on and on. A committee in the US House of Representatives is working on a bill that would toughen national gun laws, but it has little chance of passing the Senate.
