A controversial task is back… Big Brother’s ITV revival has divided viewers by bringing back a controversial shopping task. This week in their penultimate shopping task ahead of the final week, housemates will have the opportunity to be within touching distance of their loved ones. After almost six weeks cut off from the outside world, it’s understandable why even the most brutal, twisty show would want to give its contestants something to smile about… but viewers aren’t all on board.
In fact, it’s somewhat of a classic segment and has even featured in the celebrity version – who could forget Casey Batchelor’s mum telling her that Lee Ryan has ‘mugged you off, darling?’ Despite being a regular challenge, it isn’t a favourite among viewers. Reacting to the news that housemates could see their loved ones this week, one person tweeted: ‘Why come on the show if you can’t live without seeing family for a few weeks’.
