San Antonian Christopher Cross, best known for such hits as 'Sailing' and 'Ride Like the Wind,' will be recognized alongside fellow Texans Miranda Lambert and 'Yellowstone' creator Taylor Sheridan.

Cross, best known for such hits as"Sailing" and"Ride Like the Wind," will be recognized alongside fellow musician Miranda Lambert, who calls Lindale home, and"Yellowstone" creator Taylor Sheridan, who is from Weatherford.

The awards are presented every two years by the Texas Cultural Trust. Cross and company will be recognized with two days of festivities slated for Feb. 21-22 in Austin. Other recipients include actor Luke Wilson, who is from Dallas; Austin-based Miró Rivera Architects; the Center for Performing Arts Medicine in Houston; Dallas-based clothing designer Lela Rose; El Paso writer Benjamin Alire Saenz; and choreographer and Brownsville native Septime Webre.Miranda Lambert is among the honorees who will receive the 2023 Texas Medal of Arts.of her work and that of Benny Andrews will open at the McNay Art Museum on Oct. 6.

And Abilene native Carole Cook will receive the lifetime achievement award for her work in musical theater. She was in the original productions of"42nd Street" and"Romantic Comedy" and followed Carol Channing as the second actress to portray Dolly Levi in"Hello, Dolly!"
