Cathleen Dookie complains she has lost footfall and may have to shut the business.

A café owner has said she may have to close her business following struggles linked to three sets of nearby roadworks, including those for last year's Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Some people lost their businesses and homes, which had to be bulldozed as part of the regeneration programme. She explained: "I've lost all my footfall, so it's affected me. I'm struggling. "There was one lady... she started nearly crying, because she's got nowhere to go. She can't walk all the way to One Stop , because that's too far."

It added the authority's Perry Barr 2040 masterplan would build on the investment, "meaning the residents and businesses of Perry Barr will reap the rewards for many years to come".The first few apartments - priced between £173,400 and £229,500 - had gone on the market in the area of the Games' cancelled athletes village, the Local Democracy Reporting Service said.
