The Phoenix Suns center had his 12 points, game-high 16 rebounds, two assists and three blocks in the Suns' 111-107 win over Indiana on Saturday.
Bismack Biyombo keeps sending back opponents' shots and continue his rise near the NBA's top 100 all-time block leaders.
"I’m always appreciative of the coaches that I’m surrounded by. We watch a lot of films and tell you when it makes sense to go in and when it doesn’t make sense to go in, and then you start kind of picking up your timing and then helping your teammate. I also think when you block shots, you give the teammates some type of confidence into pressuring the ball and that has played in our favor.”
After Biyombo re-entered the game for Mikal Bridges early in the second, Biyombo helped push the Suns' biggest lead to 10 from his jump-hooks assisted by Duane Washington Jr. at 10:25. Then got his second block on a layup attempt by Bennedict Mathurin in the Pacers' ensuing possession. “I think it was just the team doing a good job of finding me," Biyombo said."We kind of figured that were gonna blitz sometimes or gonna play zone, so the coaches did a really good job in preparing us for the game and us as bigs kind of operating in those tight spaces from the weak side.
“He had more blocks than me? I think they’re all learning how to block from me. I’m a great teacher, let’s put it that way,” Biyombo said.
