A 71-year-old woman was gored by a bison at Yellowstone National Park on Wednesday. It was the second time in a matter of days that a bison attacked a Yellowstone visitor, park officials said.

The woman, visiting from West Chester, Pennsylvania, suffered non life-threatening injuries from the encounter, which occurred as she and her daughter were returning to their car at the trailhead. It was the third reported bison attack recorded in the park this year, and just the second to occur over the course of a week.along a boardwalk near Giant Geyser.
The bison was walking near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, just north of Old Faithful, when the woman approached it.
