Is her inner monologue soundtracked by fluttering flutes? When she closes her eyes, does she see watercolors, or 3D graphics? Is she thinking about trees, pretty much all the time? Or maybe her fierce but fragile interior voice is comfortably surrounded by fluffy white clouds.
At the Chase Center on Saturday night, the Icelandic artist gave the audience a view inside. The Cornucopia tour, based on her “Utopia” album, came to San Francisco after three performances in Los Angeles. There’s a second show in SF on Feb. 8 , which will be the conclusion of the short five-date series.

Draped in all white, they set an ethereal foundation for the set, complemented by flute septet Viibra adding a layer of fantasy.

She wore an oversized dress that looked like it was covered in foamy loofahs , plus an elaborate mask that obscured her face.

Older hits were given a makeover, adapted to the flute and choir ensemble, including “Venus as a Boy,” “Pagan Poetry” and “Hidden Place.
