It seems like every week, Blackpink’s Lisa finds herself on a new Billboard chart and a new way to make history.
... [+]The past few weeks have been extremely good for Lisa on thecharts. The Blackpink singer and rapper has made history over and over in almost too many ways to count, as her first two solo songs found their way to important and competitive rankings in America. This frame, her latest focus track debuts on yet another list, adding one more incredible accomplishment to her discography.’s ranking of the most-consumed tracks that can be qualified as hip-hop, rap or R&B.
“Money” opens at No. 49 on this week’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, coming in second-to-last place, though it’s still a huge win for the musician. Lisa is now just the second musician typically known for producing some form of K-pop to place on the tally. Back in 2007, South Korean R&B and reggae star Skull placed his single"Boom Di Boom Di" on the ranking. That tune eventually climbed to No.
As “Money” arrives, Lisa also becomes the first female K-pop artist to place, and her single now stands as the highest-charting effort by a musician from that part of the world. It should also be noted that the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart is shorter now than it was in 2007 when Skull made history. The ranking only features 50 spots these days, while it used to be twice as long.
Lisa broke barriers several weeks back when “Money” debuted at No. 1 on the Rap Digital Song Sales chart, standing out as the bestselling rap tune in America. It has continued to perform well on YouTube since, and all those plays help it reach this new list this frame. “Money” also came very close to breaking onto the Hot 100 this week, as it launches at No. 7 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100, a 25-spot extension of the main chart.
