Blackpool schoolboy with brain disorder set to become YouTube star by playing video games with brother
A schoolboy whose neurological condition means he struggles to control his behaviour has racked up thousands of views after launching a YouTube channel.
The Blackpool youngster lives with a sensory processing disorder which affects his behaviour and his ability to stay calm in various situations. It can also cause anxiety and overstimulation as well as affecting his fine motor movements. For the last issue, the gaming has proved helpful for improving strength in Josh’s hands, thumbs and fingers.
Josh said: “We’re getting more fans and we’re aiming for 1,000 subscribers then we’re aiming for 2,000. We just play video games. It’s very fun. My dad helps with the videos. We do them and he puts on funny things.” “I sort of thought ‘what can I do as a dad to help calm his senses?’ It might sound silly [to choose] computer games but if he gets something he can concentrate on, it can help calm his sensory needs.”
